Emergence[y] AND stagestruck AND stories AND more!

Tuesday, June 14 at 4pm…repeated Sunday, June 19 at 3 PM

I could say that this week’s Art Lot guest is talking about the art of survival in our crazy world…but it’s so much more than that, as you will hear.

Taking a life crisis as her starting point, writer Catherine G Lucas overturns the ‘emergency’ aspect of this; instead of this being a horrific, negative experience - which it so often is for very many people -  she shows how it can be transformed into something wonderful, a positive ‘emergence’ into a new life, often a new spirituality.

Her new book, ‘In Case of Spiritual Emergency: Moving Successfully through Your Awakening’, explores how with understanding and support, such crises offer enormous potential for healing, personal growth, fulfilment and awakening.

We talk about how her own ‘emergency’ led her to find empathetic support…which eventually led her to founding the UK Spiritual Crisis Network…which eventually led her to writing this fascinating and helpful book.

The book will be available from July but can already be pre-ordered.

For my next newsletter item, I must confess an interest or two; it’s from the Painswick Players [who were guests on The Art Lot way back:

  1. I, me, myself have a part in their next play – actually my acting debut! And…
  2. My Art Lot guest on June 28 [repeat July 3] will be Stephen Friar, the director of the said show.

Here is what Steve has sent me:

“They’re an eclectic mix, the characters in Peter Quilter’s Duets: a couple on a blind date, a millionaire and his devoted secretary, a husband and wife reluctantly holidaying together and a brother and his sister anxiously contemplating her third marriage.

“But they all have one thing in common: they’re craving companionship and love. And it is their often desperate pursuit of the perfect partner that creates both the comedy and the pathos of this extraordinary collection of plays…

“Duets is being performed at the Church Rooms on Thursday 14, Friday 15 and Saturday 16 July beginning at 7.30.

“Wine and soft drinks will be available during the interval and we intend making this a really entertaining night out for you and your friends.  £8 tickets are available from Painswick Post Office – seating is limited so book yours now!”

Indeed, indeed, Steve! Book now!

And listen in to The Art Lot on June 28th!
