Tailor-extraordinaire Rowland Oxland [in the studio, right] is making a welcome return to The Art Lot today Tuesday November 30 at 4…Rowland’s career jumped from bass player in a band heading for the heights to the art of stitching – so not only will you hear him explain the quirky event which lead to this unlikely career switch, you can also enjoy his eclectic choice of music.

It is a private show, by definition, but anyone who listens to The Art Lot Slot would be very welcome.

December 11th (Saturday) from 6 - 10. 512 Beech Lane, Brownshill, GL6 8AJ.

Call 07974 414 407 if you get lost!"

Sunday

Quick! Tune in and hear about the art of money... yes, the art of money!

Philosopher of money Arthur Edwards was my studio guest this week and the repeat is today Sunday, November 21 at 3!

Tune in! 107.9FM locally, or from http://www.stroudfm.co.uk/ anywhere in the world!

Arthur was fresh back from giving a talk in California ... here is what his website says about that talk, called Colours of Money:

“Understanding money has never been more important than today. Whether it be unfair trade, widespread poverty, burgeoning debt or bank bail-outs, modern life is marked by a ceaseless and unhealthy chase after money, which then acts more as our master than our servant.

“Whether locally or globally, can we understand and use money in ways that enable competition to give way to more cooperative ways of doing business?

“Derived from Rudolf Steiner’s contribution to economic and monetary history, The Colours of Money© seminar looks at the history and purpose of money and how it can be the main instrument for bringing about real and lasting change in our economic circumstances.”

Dry? Believe me, listening to Arthur is far from dry.

You can check him out on www.arthuredwards.net and also at the Centre for Associative Economics on www.cfae.biz

Listen in next Tuesday, or to the repeat the following Sunday, November 21 at 3 PM.

I'm hoping to raise £200 for Buddhafield...can you help me get there?

Take a look:

Here's some backgraound to Buddhafield - I've been...and greatly respect all they do:

In 2006 Buddhafield bought 17 acres of gorgeous land in Dartmoor National Park called Frog Mill. It cost £85,000 and Buddhafield has done very well to pay off over £50,000 but there is still £35,000 to go. The land is used to hold some of Buddhafield's larger retreats and has a salmon spawning river, the Blackaton Brook flowing through it and is home to kingfishers, dippers and a host of other wildlife. There’s some photos on-line at www.flickr.com/photos/fwbo/sets/72157594390868206/

The Buddhafield collective has a heartfelt desire to contribute to protecting land, and enabling people to build caring relationships with the earth that supports us. The need to preserve healthy soil and habitats where wildlife can thrive grows ever more urgent in our time. Buddhafield is looking for 150 people to raise £200 each, by the end of 2010, in creative and exciting ways - like I am doing- so that Frog Mill will be paid off and we’ll be free to go on to other things. Would you like to be one of those people sharing your skills, passions, creativity and talent to help Buddhafield?  Thank you to everyone who is supporting me. Love Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. So please dig deep and donate now.
Playwrights Miranda Walker and Richard Robey [pictured here] are my guests in this week's Art Lot -- that's Tuesday, November 2 at four.

It's a great interview with insights on how their interest in playwriting started, the thrill of having work performed…and some great tips for budding playwrights.

Miranda is one of the rare breed of writers who make a living from their writing ... so tune in -- don't miss!

But in case you do miss it, the programme is repeated the following Sunday, November 7 at three.
