Three-in-one!

I'm treating myself to a retirement gift ... a month in India!

Yes, I'm off for the whole of September BUT OF COURSE the Art Lot will still be broadcast ... Ah, the wonders of pre-recording!

So, there are three programmes to tell you about, the first being the repeat this Sunday of the wonderful interview with illustrator Tony Meeuwissen ...

…repeated Sunday, August 28 at 3 PM
Tony has enjoyed a prolific and prestigious career, and although you may not recognise his name, but I would put money on it that you recognise his work.
He has designed record labels, award-winning stamps, award-winning books and covers of the Radio Times ... and in the interview he tells how his career started and developed.
Definitely, definitely, definitely ... a must-listen show.
Tuesday, Sep 6 at 4pm…repeated Sunday, Sep 11 at 3 PM

If you were as flabbergasted as I was, at the glitches which bedevilled the interview with music-man Michael Deason-Barrow, then you will be delighted to know that Art Lot co-presenter James D’Angelo has persuaded him back into the studio to re-record the session, and this is the week it is broadcast.

Michael, director of Tonalis, is not only a master singing teacher and an inspirational choir trainer, he is also known all over the world as a music innovator promoting a new vision of music.

This show is a fabulous conversation between two music masters: don’t miss it!

Storyteller Fiona Eadie is my guest this week. If you thought storytelling was only for children, think again.

Not only does Fiona share the delightful tale about how she came into the craft of storytelling, but I also managed to persuade her to tell ‘us’ story during the show.

Which she does, and nearly has me in tears! It's a beautiful, traditional story which she tells the true story of the pathos and passion.

Do listen in! You will not be disappointed!

Art Lot fan Bill Jones has sent me keen this update of the next short story night on Sunday, 16th October, and he's looking for submissions.

Stories can be between 50 and 1500 words long.  All subjects and genres welcome, he says, true as well as fictional. The deadline for submissions is Sunday 18th September.

You can send your stories (preferably in the body of an e-mail) to:

He’s also made a website with photos from the last event and information about forthcoming events at http://www.stroudshortstories.blogspot.com/ .
